The principle role of the Health Care Assistant is to assist the nursing and interdisciplinary team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care
The post holder will be expected to work without direct supervision for all or most of the shift,
Key Responsibilities
- Being aware of the extent of your own knowledge and skill and only undertaking work that you are competent to do
- Taking physical measurements from named patients as delegated by the team
- Supporting patients in maintaining their health and wellbeing
- Undertaking specified and delegated clinical and therapeutic activities
- Taking responsibility for your own development, learning and performance including participating in clinical supervision
- Demonstrating skills and activities to other health care assistants and carers who are undertaking similar work
- Essential Skills Good written and verbal communication skills Clinical experience (taking blood pressures, Manual handling, etc.)
